Wrestling with God

Based on the early life of ALEXANDER CAMPBELL, an Irish intellectual who
immigrated to America as a young man and one of the courageous individuals who, against formidable odds, helped shape the religious freedoms we enjoy today. WRESTLING WITH GOD is a true story of people, of family, of life, death, faith, and hope. Arriving here as an immigrant in 1808, disillusioned by the hypocrisy of the clerical hierarchy in the Old World, he faced a new country riddled with factious religious zealots of every persuasion, all claiming their own brands of religion as the only acceptable path to righteousness. Campbell fought to pare away the layers of man-made doctrine and rediscover God’s truth at its source; Holy Scripture and the elegant simplicity of Christ’s teachings.
WRESTLING WITH GOD is one of those rare Christian films that opens doors to new spiritual journeys. Its compelling message is delivered by asking questions rather than imposing answers. Campbell’s personal conflicts are the same battles Christians wrestle with today; the day-to-day tests, the hard fought triumphs and the faith shaking tragedies of real life.
WRESTLING WITH GOD transcends denominational barriers and cuts to the core of faith.
